It's nearly Halloween, Adam's favorite holiday.

He used to work in the old vintage cinema in town, before it was shuttered. He'd always score us a scary film to watch while stuffing our faces with sweets. He even gave me a spare key to the back so I could get by all the kids. It was so much fun.

I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow but I'd give anything to do that again with him.

Fuck it! I'm going to watch a movie this halloween if it kills me!

The old cinema still has a working projector and if I can connect up the electric from the tesco next door like Adam did, I can get it working.

You may be wondering what film would be worth such effort. Only the best of Cronenberg and Adam's favourite, good ol' Videodrome. I've seen it like a hundred times at this point but sitting in that dusty, old place on halloween is sure to stir some spooks.

I've never actually done a review of the film on here so I'll do that for you guys tomorrow.

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!

I'll be honest, I don't even know if there's anyone reading this anymore but I need to put it down in writing. Someone else needs to know what happened that night. I need to know that I'm not crazy.

I went to the old cinema. I brought the keys and got in through the backdoor, just like old times. The place was empty, just dust and empty boxes. I took the stairs up to the projector room and there he was.

I'm not sure how much of him was still there but it was him, same shirt as when he spent the night. He was lying back against the projector, inside it too.

You'd think with all the movies I've watched, I'd be used to the sight of mangled bodies but this was nothing like the movies. It was nothing like anything that could be real.

You know how they thread the film through the reels? It was like they used him for it, except there was no blood, it was just wet muscles and flesh crammed into the thing.

I could only make out half his face and his right arm, still clutching that goddamn hard drive.

His eye was still moving, he was looking down at the drive and then at me with this fucking look. I don't know what it was, pain? pleasure? It looked like all of it at once.

I tried to help him out of it, I really did, but he was part of it. I tried to take the fucking drive from him but then the projector started playing.

The screen should have been too torn and the speakers shouldn't even have had power but he was right there. It was the same fucker from the market.

His eyes were even clammier and he was saying something. I couldn't hear him over the sounds of the rest of Adam being forced through the reels, his bones crushing under the machinery.

I don't remember much of what happened after, just the running and the feeling of sickness rising in my chest. I made it out in one piece somehow.

I talked to the police. They went into the cinema and came out with a fully intact, if a bit decayed, body. They said I had been seeing things from the shock but I know it was real and I know that body was not Adam's.

I couldn't bring myself to go to the funeral.

I know he's not dead, my brother is still alive, somewhere in the reels.

I'm officially closing down this journal but I'm not done looking for the truth.

They demolished the old cinema but I know whoever did that to my brother is still out there.

I've been talking to some people who have had similar experiences on the internet and I've started a new site to collect their stories.

I'm not posting a link to it here. Those of you who are also seeking the truth will know where to find it.

I miss you Adam.
